CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Attorney General’s office says a man who died in a collision with a fuel tanker last year was responsible for shooting and killing a man in Chesterfield in 2012.

Douglas Farr was considered a suspect in the April 14, 2012, shooting of Mark McAuley, who was shot six times. Farr suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

Farr said he shot McAuley in self-defense. He was not arrested as police continued to investigate the case.

In May 2013, Farr and his fiancee, Erin Brault, died in the crash on Route 12 in Keene.

In a report released Thursday, the attorney general’s office released a report saying there were no other suspects and that the case would be closed.
