PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - A man accused of killing three people in Pueblo County and setting their house on fire has pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://tinyurl.com/n75prkn ) Harry Mapps on Thursday admitted killing Reginald and Kim Tuttle and their daughter Dawn Roderick in November.

The plea agreement calls for Mapps to receive three consecutive life sentences, avoiding the death penalty.

Mapps admitted shooting the victims in their Rye home. They were discovered after firefighters responded to a fire.

Mapps was on the run for about a month before he was arrested in December in Roland, Oklahoma.

Investigators said Mapps was about to be kicked out of a home in Rye before the murders.
