NEW YORK (AP) - Two men have been arrested in connection with a pair of attempted abductions of young girls walking home from school in Queens.

Police say 17-year-old Joshua Wright and 16-year-old Andrew Ghulam, both of Queens, were arrested on charges of unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment. It’s unclear if they had lawyers.

The first incident happened in Queens Village at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police say an 11-year-old girl fled after a man got out of an SUV wearing a black mask and tried to talk to her.

Moments later, police say two 11-year-olds and a 10-year-old fled after seeing a man in an SUV pass a firearm to another man, pull a mask over his head and get out of the vehicle.
