SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a 45-year-old man has died after being struck by a cab in Scottsdale.

Officer David Pubins says the man had left a nearby restaurant before 1:30 a.m. Sunday and walked across Scottsdale Road.

Pubins says the victim was crossing in the middle of a road, not a crosswalk, when the driver of a Yellow Cab going northbound hit him.

Authorities say the man was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators have not issued any citations and say it is too early to tell if alcohol was a factor.

Police closed Scottsdale Road until 6 a.m.
