RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The principal of a public middle school in Richmond is suing four parents for a letter critical of the school’s leadership and climate.
Lucille M. Brown Middle School Principal Denise R. Lewis is seeking $3 million in compensatory damages, as well as punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1imDBc5 ) reports that the lawsuit was prompted by a letter published in an alternative weekly.
Lewis said the four conspired to “maliciously” injure her and her reputation.
The four defendants were part of a group of several dozen parents who wrote a letter that was published in Style Weekly’s online edition in July 2013.
No trial date has been scheduled.
