CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee woman has been charged with criminal homicide after police found her infant daughter dead inside their home in Clarksville.
Police spokeswoman Natalie Hall told The Leaf Chronicle (https://leafne.ws/1chGjgi ) that officers initially responded Friday morning to reports of a woman screaming and yelling.
Once at the home, Hall says, they found the body of 7-month-old Astrid Johnson inside. Officers arrested her mother, 24-year-old Stefany Paige Johnson, a short time later.
A neighbor, Calvin Melvin, says a man, woman and two young children lived in the home where the remains were found and had been there about eight months.
Melvin says he later saw police at the home and several ambulances. He also says he saw neighbors at the home.
