MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee man facing a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife won’t face a jury until at least this summer after a judge delayed the proceedings.
Judge David Bragg has postponed 31-year-old Jacob Pearman’s day before a jury from March 14 until June 16. The trial, which will also cover child abuse charges, is expected to last six days.
Murfreesboro Police on Feb. 14, 2013, charged Pearman with the murder of his wife, 30-year-old Carla Pearman, at their Murfreesboro home.
The Daily News Journal reported (https://on.dnj.com/1cBtbD7 ) that Bragg also denied a request by Pearman’s attorney to move the trial because of the publicity surrounding the case.
