MACON, Ga. (AP) - Malik Beasley scored 22 points and Kobi Jordan-Simmons scored 20 to lead St. Francis to a 65-60 win over Whitefield Academy Saturday in the GHSA Class A boys private school championship game.

The Knights (24-7) won their first state title after losing to Greenforest Christian in the state championship game last year.

Courtney Alexander led the Wolfpack (23-7) with 17 points, while Berto Dryden scored 16.

The Knights controlled the paint with the 6-foot-9 Josh Coleman and Kaiser Gates (6-foot-8), helping their team earn a 43-23 rebounding advantage. They also outscored Whitefield 35-26 in the paint and 19-8 on second-chance points.

Whitefield’s Eric Lockett, a George Mason signee, scored three points and played just 14 minutes before fouling out.

Whitefield, which won the regular-season matchup between the teams, lost in the state championship game for the fifth time in the past 12 years.
