NORMAL, Ill. (AP) - Kristen Gengenbacher scored 20 points and Mary Beth Hugenberg added 19 to lead Quincy Notre Dame past Burlington Central 64-40 in the girls Class 3A consolation game.

The Lady Raiders (30-4), Class 3A state champs the previous three years, grabbed the lead on the first possession Saturday and never trailed.

A young Central team was led by sophomores Sam Pryor, with 10 points, and Kayla Ross with nine points.



Notre Dame played smothering defense, forcing 27 Central turnovers - including 19 in the first half. Notre Dame was 25-56 from the field while Central was 13-31.

Notre Dame was defeated by Joliet Catholic Academy 70-59 and Central lost to Lombard Montini 34-26 in Friday’s 3A semifinals.

Joliet and Lombard meet in the 3A championship game later on Saturday.
