GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - North Star outscored Linton-HMB 17-5 in the second quarter and withstood a second-half rally to beat the Lions 60-49 Saturday in the third-place game at the North Dakota Boys’ Class B basketball tournament.
Jayden Komrosky had 14 points and Alex Weston and Christian Kvilvang added 13 each for North Star (19-8). Kvilvang had nine rebounds.
Weston went over the 1,000-point mark in the first half.
Linton-HMB (21-6) led 12-9 after one quarter but went cold from the field. It finished the first half shooting 25 percent and trailing 26-17. It tied the game at 28-28, but the Bearcats pulled away.
Andrew Small led Linton-HMB with 15 points. Ryan Schneider had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
