DENVER (AP) - A 53-year-old man has been convicted of first-degree murder in a fatal stabbing in the Denver suburb of Arvada.
The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1nsFz9M ) a Jefferson County jury found Abdu Latif Kazembe Abunantambu-el, also known as Paul McKnight, guilty on Wednesday in the Aug. 24, 2012, death of 52-year-old Levi Johnson.
Prosecutors say Abunantambu-el forced his way into a home, fought with the resident and then stabbed Johnson to death with a kitchen knife. After the stabbing, he held the resident captive, forcing her to clean up blood and other evidence of the attack.
Abunantambu-el, who is set to be sentenced May 14, also was convicted of burglary, assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and false imprisonment.
