ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An Albuquerque aviation officer is in critical condition after his car was clipped by a suspected drunk driver.

KRQE-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1fgnncS) that New Mexico State Police say 52-year-old Officer Robert Dilley was the victim in the crash that occurred Friday night on Interstate 40.

Authorities say 32-year-old Michele Rivera was also going westbound and driving erratically at a high speed.

They say her vehicle hit Dilley’s, causing him to lose control.

Investigators say Dilley’s car hit a center concrete barrier and a light pole before flipping over.

They say the seven-year police veteran was on his way home from work.

Rivera has been charged with great bodily harm by vehicle, aggravated DWI and reckless driving.
