PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) - Police in the Caribbean island of Trinidad say a tourist from New York state has died in a car crash that injured five other people.
Officers say 37-year-old Ernst Lorquet died early Friday when the driver of the car he was riding in lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole after a tire blew out. Authorities say the group was headed to the airport to catch a plane to the sister island of Tobago.
The man’s hometown was not provided.
