ROSCOE, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers have seized more than 47 pounds of marijuana from two vehicles along Interstate 80 in western Nebraska.
The patrol said in a news release Friday that a trooper stopped an eastbound pickup near the Roscoe exit just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A drug dog taken to the scene alerted troopers to the smell of drugs. Troopers say more than 32 pounds of marijuana was found inside two duffel bags inside a tool box in the pickup bed.
The driver was arrested.
The second seizure occurred Thursday afternoon after a search of a car sitting at a rest area two miles west of the Roscoe exit. Troopers say nearly 15 pounds of pot was found inside the trunk.
A passenger in the car was arrested.
