LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville fans may be decked out in blue Friday, but they haven’t switched sides.
The Kentucky Cancer Program at the University of Louisville is sponsoring “Blue of L Day” to promote colon cancer screening awareness.
Louisville star Darrell Griffith, who led the team to its first NCAA championship in 1980; Louisville sportscaster and “Voice of the Cards” Paul Rogers; and Madeline Abramson, wife of Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson, will be featured at events during the day.
Participants will see the “Incredible Colon,” a walk-through replica of the human colon to educate the public about colorectal cancer.
Area businesses are also participating and will decorate Gallopalooza horses at several locations with blue ribbons.
