LEXINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Prosecutors have dropped some charges against a woman accused in the wounding of a Davidson County sheriff’s deputies last year.
The Dispatch of Lexington reported (https://bit.ly/1hQ4jXg ) that the Davidson County grand jury has indicted 27-year-old Terina Lane billings of East Bend and 25-year-old David Poole of Winston-Salem on a number of charges in the Dec. 19 shooting.
District Attorney Garry Frank said six counts of attempted first-degree murder were dropped against Billings. She’s charged with armed robbery and burglary.
Poole is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a gun by a convicted felon, six counts of attempted first-degree murder, six counts of assault with a gun on a law enforcement officer and other charges.
Deputy Charles Goforth III was shot in the leg.
