PRAIRIEVILLE, La. (AP) - State police have arrested the driver of a pickup involved in a fatal accident in Ascension Parish
Troopers say a two-vehicle accident happened on Feb. 6 on La. Highway 42
Trooper Jared Sandifer says 56-year-old Sheri B. Thompson, of Prairieville, was killed in the crash.
Sandifer says 24-year-old Dalyn P. Melancon was westbound on Highway 42 when his truck crossed the centerline and struck Thompson’s car head on.
Melancon booked with negligent homicide, careless operation and no seatbelt.
It was unclear whether Melancon has an attorney.
