PHOENIX (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Laveen teenager will spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty to sexual abusing a minor.
The U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Arizona announced Wednesday the sentencing of 19-year-old Aaron Lee Escarsega.
Escarsega, a member of the Tohono O’odham Nation, will also be under a lifetime of supervised release.
He pleaded guilty in December 2013 to abusive sexual contact of a minor.
Prosecutors say his arrest was part of a nationwide initiative started by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
