HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) - Bay Area Rapid Transit service between the train line’s Hayward and Fremont stations has resumed after a death on the tracks led to a shutdown.

BART officials announced just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday that service had been restored. It was disrupted the previous night after a train struck and killed someone near the South Hayward station.

The circumstances leading to the death are under investigation, but BART spokesman Jim Allison says there are no indications of foul play.
