LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - Loveland police say they’ve made a traffic stop related to their investigation into the shooting of an officer, but they declined to release any details.

One person was arrested after the stop Wednesday, but it was for warrants unrelated to the shooting of officer Garret Osilka (oh-SIL’-kuh).

On Tuesday, 23-year-old Cody Alan Powell was arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder of a peace officer and first-degree assault. His bail was set Wednesday at $500,000.

It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.

Osilka was wounded during a traffic stop Sunday but is expected to survive. Police said Wednesday he’s improving.

Authorities haven’t said what role Powell allegedly had in the shooting. They say the investigation continues but they don’t know of any danger to the public.
