NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A New York man has been sentenced to 21 years and 10 months in prison for robbing a Virginia bank and brandishing a gun during a violent crime.
Federal authorities say 47-year-old Phillip D. Bosket was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk. He pleaded guilty in December.
According to court documents, Bosket’s attempt to rob a Norfolk credit union was foiled by a security guard. But a few weeks later he robbed a Portsmouth bank at gunpoint, then led police on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed his van into a building in Virginia Beach.
