ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Three nonprofit organizations that are focused on New Mexico’s affordable housing issues will share in a federal grant worth more than $788,000.

The groups are Santa Fe’s Homewise Inc., the Navajo Partnership for Housing in Gallup and Tierra del Sol Housing Corp. in southern New Mexico.

U.S. Sens. Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich say the funding will go toward revitalization efforts and to promote and preserve affordable housing.

Udall says quality affordable housing serves as a building block that helps create jobs and grow the economy by keeping families together.
