WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Fire department officials say an adult and three children were injured in a fire at a Wilmington home.
The News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/NSLBnm ) that the fire broke out Tuesday afternoon on West 34th Street.
Fire Department spokesman Capt. Richard Danner says the residents got out after a smoke alarm sounded, but were taken to area hospitals suffering from smoke inhalation. He says their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Danner says the blaze was contained to a second-floor bedroom and there was only minor fire damage to that room and minor smoke damage in the rest of the house.
The Wilmington Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire was caused by careless use of burning materials.
