SEATTLE (AP) - A 67-year-old Federal Way, Wash., man accused of raping a severely developmentally disabled woman and forcing her and another woman to have sex with his friends for money has been charged in Superior Court.
The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/3O7wx4) that James Delong has been charged with second-degree rape and promoting prostitution. Bail has been set at $700,000.
According to court documents, the man is accused of raping the 51-year-old woman for several years after he took her in as a “charity case.” Police say the woman can’t read, write or say how old she is and is practically non-verbal.
KOMO-TV reports that court documents say Delong maintains the sex was consensual.
The man is also accused of driving the 51-year-old and another vulnerable woman to his friends’ houses and forcing the women to have sex for money.
Delong was arrested after the 51-year-old went to Federal Way police last month, accompanied by a roommate and their landlord.
