WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - Williston Police arrested a repo man who fired his gun as the owner of the vehicle in the process of being repossessed attempted to drive away.
The Williston Herald (https://bit.ly/1hsQxuu ) reports Douglas Bothwell, an employee of Road Rage Towing, chased the fleeing driver for two blocks on March 18 before blocking off the path of the vehicle and firing at least one shot.
Bothwell told police he couldn’t remember firing a shot because he was caught up in the heat of the moment, but added that he should have emptied his weapon’s magazine into the vehicle or at least rammed the vehicle for the drivers’ actions.
The Stanley man has been charged with a felony for reckless endangerment and a misdemeanor for the discharge of a firearm within city limits.
