DUNWOODY, Ga. (AP) - Police in suburban Atlanta say they’re searching for a shoplifting suspect who stole a good Samaritan’s car after crashing his own getaway vehicle.
Dunwoody police spokesman Tim Fecht says a man stole a television from a Walmart and fled in a white Dodge Challenger Monday morning. Authorities tried stopping the man, but he sped south along Ashford Dunwoody road.
Fecht says the man ran a red light, hit another car and crashed into a pole. When a concerned driver stopped, Fecht says the suspect took the driver’s tan 2009 Dodge Caravan and fled the scene.
Fecht says the vehicle has a Georgia tag reading “AHN5359.” Fecht says anyone who sees the vehicle should call 911. Although it’s unclear whether the suspect was armed, Fecht says he’s considered dangerous.
