NORTH MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (AP) - A fire destroyed a swimming pool supply store and three other businesses at a Long Island shopping center.

Newsday (https://bit.ly/1jS4Zj5 ) says it took about 100 firefighters and more than three hours before the fire was brought under control at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. There were no reports of injuries.

Authorities say the shopping center on Hicksville Road in North Massapequa had been evacuated during the fire due to concerns about swimming pool chemicals burning.

County health officials tested the air for harmful chemicals and found it to be safe.

No word on what caused the fire.
