LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - Justin Blakeney, who is charged with capital murder in the 2010 death of a 2-year-old girl, will go to trial a second time on July 7.

The Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1jr75DV ) Jones County Circuit Judge Billy Joe Landrum scheduled the trial this past week. Landrum also ordered jury selection would take place in Greene County. Jurors will be brought back to Jones County for the trial.

Blakeney’s first trial ended in February when a sufficient number of qualified jurors could not be found.

Blakeney remains in the county jail without bond.

Court records show Blakeney told medical personnel on Aug. 10, 2010, the child fell from a stool and hit her head. The child died later at a Jackson hospital. An autopsy showed the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
