HAYNEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle highway crash that killed a man in Lowndes County.

WSFA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1i73zAn ) troopers arrived at the scene on Highway 33 early Monday after a 1992 Chevrolet van left the roadway and struck a creek bed. The crash happened about 15 miles south of Hayneville.

The crash killed the van’s driver, 54-year-old Arthur Middleton of Burkville. Authorities say Middleton was not wearing a seat belt.



The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
