WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police have arrested a 16-year-old after officers saw him trying to hide the weapon in the waistband of his pants.
It happened about 11:50 a.m. Monday on West 6th and North Jefferson streets. Police say the officers were on patrol when the saw the youth try to hide the gun.
Officers try to stop the youth, but he ran and discarded a loaded .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine. He was apprehended as a foot chase
The youth is charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.
