LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have searched a Loveland apartment but didn’t make any arrests after a shooting that left a police officer critically injured.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports (https://tinyurl.com/n8qx84n ) no one was home when police entered the residence Monday afternoon.
Earlier Monday, a high school, middle school and elementary school were placed on lockdown during the search.
Police say the officer who was injured is expected to survive. Authorities identified him as 36-year-old Garret Osilka (oh-SIL’-kuh).
He was shot Sunday during a nighttime traffic stop.
Police say Osilka returned fire. It’s not known if a suspect was hit, but hospitals were told to be on the lookout for someone with a gunshot wound.
