FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - Firefighters in Fond du Lac had to battle extreme cold as they rescued a woman from a house fire.

Crews were called to the fire around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Dispatchers alerted firefighters that a woman was trapped in the two-story house.

Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes and rescued the woman from a first-floor window. She was taken to a hospital.

Frozen fire hydrants hampered firefighters. The American Red Cross was called into to help firefighters because of the cold.

A total of 55 personnel from five fire departments were called to the scene.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators believe it was electrical.
