LOS ANGELES (AP) - A former a UCLA water polo player has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting three women - including a fellow student.

City News Service says 19-year-old Hakop Kaplanyan of Glendale entered pleas Monday to eight charges, including rape and assault.

He could face 37 years and four months in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors contend that Kaplanyan attacked three women between 2012 and last April, when he was arrested after a student filed a report with campus police alleging he’d raped her in a campus residence hall.

Kaplanyan was suspended from the university but not immediately charged with a crime.

However, he was arrested again on Friday following his indictment by a grand jury.
