SEMINOLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a teenager was shot by his friend at a home in Seminole.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon.

Deputies say the boys had just returned from baseball practice. They went into a room where the 16-year-old was showing his 14-year-old friend a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle.



The Tampa Tribune (https://bit.ly/1i6uJar ) reports the rifle fired, hitting the younger teen in the stomach. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening.

No adults were home at the time. Deputies say no charges will be filed against the 16-year-old.
