SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (AP) - Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting a clerk at an Everett convenience store last month.

Acting on a tip, a SWAT team apprehended 52-year-old Gary Greene at a Swampscott apartment at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

Police say Greene, who has a Peabody address, faces charges including assault to rob a person over 65, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and the use of a firearm in committing a felony.



One clerk was shot and a second punched during a robbery at the Neighborhood Convenience Mart in Everett on Feb. 17. The 67-year-old clerk who was shot survived.

Greene was identified as a suspect through video surveillance at the store.
