WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says a person has been struck and killed by a train at the Columbia Heights station.

Metro spokeswoman Caroline Laurin says the incident happened about 3 p.m. Saturday. Laurin says it’s believed the person was intentionally in front of the train at the time.

Trains were single-tracking through the area Saturday afternoon with delays of 20 to 30 minutes.

Rescuers were working to identify the victim.
