DARRINGTON, Wash. (AP) - A memorial service is planned for April 5 for a 69-year-old retired librarian who is among the victims of Washington’s devastating mudslide.

The service for Linda McPherson is planned as crews continue the grueling work of locating and identifying other victims of the March 22 slide that covered the community of Oso northeast of Seattle.

The Weller Funeral Home in Arlington says the McPherson service will be next Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Darrington Community Center.

The mudslide destroyed the home that McPherson shared with her husband, Gary “Mac” McPherson. He was injured but has been released from a hospital.
