CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia’s governor has signed a bill to educate and support veterans in the field of agriculture.

The Veterans to Warriors Agriculture Program creates a fund for the Department of Agriculture to assist veterans looking for work in agricultural fields after returning from combat.

The fund will support veterans’ work with bees, cottage industries, niche crops, aquaculture and developing post-mine land for agriculture.

The governor signed the bill Thursday. It will become effective on June 6.
