CHINO, Calif. (AP) - San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies have killed a man they say charged at them with a gun and a knife after a crime spree that included a stabbing, a carjacking and a chase.

Twenty-five-year-old Jason Roy Wilson of Chino Hills died at the scene Friday morning.

Authorities say he stabbed a roommate at around 5:30 a.m., attempted several carjackings and finally stole a woman’s minivan at gunpoint before leading deputies on a four-mile chase.

Authorities say Wilson crashed in a Chino Hills field, ran through neighborhood yards, broke into a family’s home on Brushwood Court and confronted the husband before leaving.

Deputies say they confronted Wilson nearby and shot him when he charged at them with a knife and gun.

The stabbing victim was listed in stable condition.
