APLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A water main leak in the northern Iowa City of Aplington has caused residents to use alternative sources of drinking water.
The Aplington Water Supply in Butler County says the community lost water pressure due to a leak Thursday. Additional information was not released.
Officials recommend that residents drink bottled water or boil tap water for food preparation and other similar uses. The boiling kills bacteria and other organisms.
The city will notify residents when they can drink the water again. It will take several days to test the water.
