CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - A hearing for a Charlottesville woman charged with assaulting the wife of Virginia House Minority Leader David J. Toscano has been rescheduled.
Claire Kennedy Ogilvie was set to be arraignment Thursday afternoon in Charlottesville General District Court but the hearing was rescheduled for May 1.
The Daily Progress reports (https://bit.ly/P0xE7x) that both parties agreed to continue the hearing while they finished gathering information.
Ogilvie is charged with burglary, abduction and malicious wounding in the alleged Feb. 24 assault on Toscano’s wife, Nancy Tramontin. Police say Tramontin was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
In a statement released after the attack, Tramontin said she and the 35-year-old Ogilvie became friends in 2010. She said they distanced themselves from Ogilvie after she developed an “unsettling interest” in the family.
