SMYRNA, Del. (AP) - Corrections officials say an inmate at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna has died in a hospital.
The Department of Correction said in a news release that 36-year-old Jason Hawks died Friday at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover.
Officials say foul play is not suspected and the body has been turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, as is standard procedure.
Hawks was serving 20-year sentence for two counts of rape of a victim younger than 12.
