COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Covington Police are pursuing 60 suspected drug dealers after arrest warrants were issued on Thursday as the result of a four-month investigation.
Covington Police Chief Spike Jones told The Kentucky Enquirer (https://cin.ci/1h19srx) most of the wanted individuals are accused of trafficking heroin. Many of them have criminal histories, some of which are extensive.
Officers began making arrests on Thursday and by the end of the day at least 13 people were in custody.
Jones said the Kentucky National Guard provided helicopter support during the arrests to help track anyone who might try to run.
Covington police are continually investigating drug trafficking in the area. Last May, more than 40 warrants were issued during a heroin and cocaine bust.
