GAFFNEY, S.C. (AP) - More charges have been filed against a Spartanburg teen in a wreck that killed two people in Cherokee County.
Nineteen-year-old Austin Shackleford has now been charged with three counts of driving under the influence causing death or bodily injury and one count of failure to stop for a blue light resulting in death.
Forty-three-year-old Tanya Jean Tiede of Spartanburg died in the wreck Saturday night on state Highway 110 near Cowpens. Her mother, 65-year-old Sandra Kay Effler of Cowpens, died Monday night at Spartanburg Regional Hospital from her injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says Tiede was traveling south on the road when a car traveling north crossed the center line and hit her car head-on.
The woman’s husband and 11-year-old daughter were hurt in the wreck.
