PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A new report indicates that Bristol County is the healthiest county in Rhode Island.

The state’s department of health announced Wednesday that the finding was based on an analysis of smoking rates, physical activity, nutrition, employment, high-school graduation rates and some two dozen other factors related to health.

The ranking was conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and researchers at the University of Wisconsin who examined data in nearly every county in the U.S.

Providence County was ranked last in the analysis.
