ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Thirty middle-school-aged girls from all over Maryland will visit Annapolis to meet women in leadership positions.

Gov. Martin O’Malley plans to give them a formal welcome at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Governor’s Reception Room.

The students were selected by school systems because of their leadership kills, academic progress and extracurricular involvement. During their visit, they will discuss tour the capitol building, discuss career development and learn about state government.
