ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police are investigating the death of a woman who was fatally shot on Interstate 20.

Police said in a statement Monday that a woman who appeared to be in her mid-20s was shot at least once in her torso and died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police say the shooting was neither random, nor an act of road rage. Authorities say the shooting happened while the car was pulled over and investigators are interviewing the other occupant of the car the woman was in. Local television stations showed police and yellow tape surrounding a sedan that was parked with its driver’s side door open as rush hour traffic crawled by.

The woman’s identity hasn’t been released. Details on the circumstances that may have led to the shooting weren’t immediately available.
