CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Murder charges have been filed against a Camden teenager accused of fatally shooting a man at a city apartment complex.
Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk says the 17-year-old suspect turned himself in late Sunday night. But his name wasn’t released because he’s a juvenile.
Faulk said the shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. Saturday outside a unit of the Crestbury Apartments in Camden. He said the victim, 33-year-old city resident Jason Williams, was shot multiple times, but further details were not disclosed.
Faulk said another 17-year-old city resident who allegedly helped the suspect conceal the weapon used in the shooting has been charged with hindering apprehension and a weapons offense. Faulk said authorities have recovered the weapon.
Both youths were being held at a juvenile detention facility.
