JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A person has survived a fall through the ice at Juneau’s Mendenhall Glacier.
Capital City Fire Rescue responded to the incident Saturday afternoon.
KINY (https://is.gd/sKl6EF) reports the individual was walking near the base of the glacier on Mendenhall Lake and fell through the ice.
Rescue crews arrived after the individual got out of the ice and was walking toward the visitor center.
Rescuers walked the individual to an ambulance for evaluation and then the person was released.
