ELMONT, N.Y. (AP) - A Far Rockaway man has been convicted in a 2012 fatal shooting during an argument with two relatives over visitation time with his 3-year-old son.

The Nassau County district attorney’s office says a jury on Monday found 33-year-old Wilfred Labossiere, of Queens, guilty of murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say that after dropping his son off with his grandmother in Elmont, Labossiere became involved in an argument with the 51-year-old woman and a relative, Christopher Mullings.

Police say Labossiere withdrew a handgun and fired multiple shots, fatally striking Mullings and critically wounding the grandmother.

Labossiere faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he’s sentenced on May 1.
